The international student must submit any two of the following documents (carry originals with you while visiting the bank for account opening)
1. Passport.
2. Letter of Acceptance
3. Study Permit
4. Temporary permit (IMM Form 1442, 1208, 1102)
5. Canadian or USA driver's licence.
6. Canadian government identification card.
7. Travellers' cheques.
To open a bank account in Canada, you need to provide any two specific pieces of identification -- such as Social Insurance Number (SIN) card issued by the Government of Canada; Canadian driver’s license, a Certificate of Canadian Citizenship; Permanent Resident card or an IRCC form IMM 1000, IMM 1442, or IMM 5292; current foreign passport; certificate of Indian Status.
You can even open a bank account before landing in Canada with some select banks.
